Bandit Truckstop New Smithville PA

The Bandit Truckstop is located on I 78 in New Smithville, PA.

While this truckstop is not as nice as many other truckstops it does have features that truckers need and apprecitate. The main area where you can pay for fuel has general items like a mini-market would have: hot dogs,hamburgers,soft drinks,frozen foods,coffee,etc.

There is also showers,ATM,load board,about 4 pay phones,and a few video games. There is a driver's lounge - nothing really there though except a few plastic chairs and a television.

Next door is a restaurant with decent food if you are not interested in the hot dog and coffee meal.

A garage is next to the restaurant for truck repairs.

If you are looking for a motel a Motel 8 is just down the road for lodging.

What makes a good truck stop?

If you ask any trucker what makes a good truck stop, the answers could be very vast. I think some though are must universal when it comes to good truck stops.

Cleanliness- This applies to more than just truckers. Nobody wants to be in a place eating or using a bathroom where the facilities are dirty.

Showers- A good truck stop has clean showers and also more than one.

Goog Service- Like anyone else, truckers do not want to wait 20 minutes to receive a menu or after ordering wait 30 minutes for their meal.

Fuel Islands- Pretty much, the more the merrier. Again, truckers do not want to be waiting in a fuel line for 30 minutes just waiting to get to the diesel pumps.

Friendly Service- Having service with a smile always helps. Who wants to be waited on by someone who looks like they are sucking on a lemon or have something stuck up their behind.

These are just basic things any decent person wants including those who are on the road a long time. So keep your chin up and remember that truckers are the ones who haul the merchandise you buy.

This Pilot Truck Stop is located on I-81 in Carlisle,PA off of exit 52B. The truckstop has services that include two ATM machines, CAT Scale,DAT,9 fuel lanes,FedEX Drop Box,check cashing,game room,lottery,Wendy's restaurant,money orders,PO Boxes,laundry,12 showers,125 parking spaces.

Western Union is also available.
